Portfolio

This is where you can find a collection of photos, videos, and whatever other forms in which you can find my games in. If you want to find playable versions of them, you can find them on my itch page.

Land, 2022

This was my first attempt at making an open environment. This Unity scene contains a mixture of trees, landscape, snow capped mountains, and water. The area is littered with grass and has a nice calming wind effect to make the environment feel alive. This was done all inside of Unity using Map Magic.

Fire Asset, 2022

This is my first real deep dive into making an entire visual effect start to finish on my own. Using Photoshop to make the series of shapes to be the flames, I then moved it into Unity to run it as a particle effect. The hardest part for me was to make the fire actually change colors, but overall I am happy with the cartoonish look to it.

Water, 2021

In my opinion, this asset is my best work in texture designs. I have been told by my professors and peers water was an extremely difficult texture to do, but I decided to tackle the challenge. Using a series of generators in Substance Painter, I attempted to recreate the white foam, as well the illusion of a current in the water.

Rusty Box, 2021

I had a lot of fun with this once I learned how to use generators and layer masks in Substance Painter. I made this Rusty Electrical box for my VR game, Duck Duck Heist, a game in development to be released on Steam. The idea was to make the box look like its has been rusting away, but has been painted over. There is a series of little bumps on all kinds of imperfections in the paint.

What's on the Menu, 2021

This was my first time taking on a coding project for Unreal. I had to learn how to add things like scene transitions, which pushed me way outside of my comfort zone when it came to Blueprinting and even coding in general. I broke everything down to the most basic level, and even through I had to teach myself how to run AI systems in a very short time, I feel the project came together very well in the end.

Hurt your Friends - For Money, 2020

What started out as a paper and pen game quickly changed into a card game. The idea I had would have been difficult to make into a video game, so it became a card game instead. This was interesting to make after all the video games I had made. This card game became such a fun experience that we still play it back home. Although I do not photos of the game, I did find the original rules sheet and it was interesting to see how much the game had changed.

The Sanctuary, 2019

The capstone of my undergrad degree was a VR Escape Room game titled The Sanctuary, a horror game developed and produced over 6 months. I did all the sound effects, wrote a simple score, made some 3D models, and made the level design for the first environment. This project was a massive task for me, as this was my first time working in VR. My team members had reservations as they thought it was going to be very difficult, but we worked well together, rolled with the punches, and the end result came out great. I even got the opportunity to make the trailer for the game, which can be viewed at the link here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3l9asQK_4wk&list=UU5EQG2L1YCUuVnOVMR58tiA&index=3&ab_channel=Delta

We struggled to get OBS to work, so we shot it live action. We had a time

ScoreBlaster, 2018

This was one of the first major projects I worked on. This game was made to be shown at an educational games event my professor had put on. I worked on the sound effects along with some of the art designs, mainly of the numbers and background. While the game was simple, it ended up being picked up by Mathnasium and used in their West Loop location. I last heard from Mathnasium in March 2020 and it was still being played by their students.

Quality Aversion, 2017

Quality Aversion is a comedy game about a game designer and a programmer fighting over what the game should be. I have always thought of myself as a funny guy, so I jumped at the opportunity to write a script and record it with two of my teammates. And on top of being responsible for the audio, I was also tasked with making sure the game was properly balanced. Out of all the games I have worked on, I still consider this to be one of my favorites.

DNA: The Game, 2017

This was made in conjunction with my biology class. We had to make a project to help educate kids at "Chicago Hopes for Kids". My group had to make an educational project about DNA. I decided to make a game where players had to answer trivia to connect different DNA strains together. This photo is sadly the only evidence I have, but it was my first time making a board game, and the trials of it were some of my favorite challenges.

Jumper, 2016

This was Jumper, this was my first ever game I made by myself. I had to learn how to juggle all the different roles on my own. Because I had never animated before, I ended up just making the characters squares. In this game you had to escape prison by between jumping between realities. I did not have much coding experience prior to this game, but with having to track all the recourses on my own, that quickly changed.
